Inpatient ServiceThe University of South Florida Division of Neonatology staffs the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Tampa General Hospital (link). TGH is an 818 bed facility that has a full complement of subspecialists who teach and provide patient care. The hospital also offers programs in cardiovascular disease, and in the management of trauma and transplantation. TGH is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center, with over 4500 deliveries each year. The NICU is a 42-bed Level III facility that offers extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and neonatal transport services. A multi-disciplinary team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, nurses and respiratory therapists takes an evidence-based approach to the management of complicated neonatal problems. |
