Research and Clinical Trials

The USF Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is committed to offering participation in research and clinical trials to all of the children served and has been engaged in clinically applied research for many years. Currently, we participate in the following national and international projects:

International Maternal Pediatrics Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trial Group (IMPAACT): A project funded by the National Institutes of Health the purpose of which is to develop and participate in multi-center HIV treatment and prevention research trials nationally and internationally.

Adolescent Trials Network (ATN):
A project funded by the National Institutes of Health in 15 cities across the U.S. which develops and enrolls adolescents and young adults in HIV treatment and prevention studies.

Youth Education Services:
A project funded by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration to identify infected youth through outreach and testing activities and enroll and retain in care.

Collaborative Antiviral Study Group:
Conducts pediatric and adult research trials in experienced clinical centers across the country and in select international sites to evaluate novel antiviral therapies that target unmet medical needs,
